Maintaining your rollerblades

To ensure you practice safely and under the best conditions, you need to stay vigilant about certain points.

The screws

Even though some parts are fixed using rivets, others are screwed and removable. During skating, the rollerblade absorbs a lot of vibrations that can weaken the tightening of certain screws, especially the screws of the spoiler, wheels, or plates.

You need to regularly check that there is no play in the parts, and tighten slightly if necessary to avoid losing a screw along the way.

Wheel wear

As you skate, you will wear your wheels asymmetrically. The inner side will gradually flatten. To maintain even wear and keep your wheels longer, you need to rotate them before the flat/beveled part exceeds the middle of the wheel.

Bearing wear

Bearings are particularly sensitive to moisture and dust, and to keep them as long as possible, they need maintenance. If the bearing makes noise, it needs to be re-lubricated.

If the bearing loses fluidity significantly, a more thorough cleaning is necessary, either using WD-40 if there are rust marks, otherwise with isopropyl alcohol or acetone to clean it, then re-lubricate before reassembling.
